walking

I am walking! I walked for about 7 controlled steps today a bunch of times. I would rather hold on to someone but maybe soon that won't be so important. We have a video but the uploading isn't working so maybe later.

November

November was a busy month. I got my first and second teeth. I finally started babbling with lots of 'mmmm', 'blah', 'da', 'r', and 'la'. Just recently I learned to crawl. I've managed to go from just a couple inches to about 6 feet today with my tummy off the ground the entire time. I can pull myself up to standing from sitting and with a little help from my belly. I love to smile and giggle when you play with me. Yesterday, I started to complain when you take stuff from me...Mommy isn't thrilled I reached that milestone. I went to my first sleep over at my great-grandmother's for 3 nights! My daddy was in Guatemala so we went visiting. I had great time with all the attention! Then home for a week before we went to Fairlee for a couple days for Thanksgiving. I saw Ibu, Granddad, Mamar, and Papoo again. It sure was fun. Now I'm home for a while before going to Houston for Christmas. There's going to be 13 of us there! What a mad house. Let me know if you like the pics and/or video...

1st tooth

Mommy finally noticed that I'm getting my first tooth. It's on the left bottom and really rather jagged. The picture isn't the best but you can see the tooth next to her finger. Click on the picture to get a bigger version.

The last month

The last month has flown by! I had a 5 day trip to San Antonio, because my aunt's mother died very suddenly. I'm good at making anyone laugh, especially when I blow bubbles and pant like a dog. I met my cousin Vinny there (really!). He's only 3 days younger than me. He was crawling really well. It was fun to see another baby my size. I got to meet/see lots of family on the trip which was nice even though it was a sad reason to visit.

When I got back it was time to go back to the doctor for more shots. I weighed 19 lbs 12 oz!!! I was 26.25 inches long. I'm still 97 % on weight and 75% on height. I'm almost out of my car seat. I guess that can't wait till Christmas. The doc said I looked great though and I don't go back until 9 months.

A nusery has been started at church. I've gone twice during Adult Ed and do great until I realize Mommy has left. Then I cry until she comes back. Of course, she comes quickly, but why does she have to go?

My room is almost done. The curtains are all up and soon the pictures will be also. It's plaster walls so a much bigger pain to hang things. We also got a new bed in my room. It's a twin with a pop-up trundle to make a king. Ibu and Granddad stayed on it last week. The best part is I still have room to play. It's good to because Alexander has been coming to play when his Mommy goes to the doctor. We sure do make a mess!

Today I pulled myself from sitting to standing for the first time. Now my mattress is much lower in the crib. Strange... Anyway I'm still trying to sit up without help. I can manage in the stroller or high chair but only when I grab onto things and pull myself up. I'll get there. Anyway here's some pictures from yesterday.

I moved the beginning of this month. Mommy still doesn't have internet at home so she hasn't been sharing any pics of me lately. When she does finally get it set up she'll have lots to share. I'm doing really well though. I love my new room. It's big and all my toys fit. I'm really glad we moved. I'm still taking steps and working on standing and walking without anyone's help. I'm sitting up really well on my own. After a few minutes I loose focus a sometimes fall over. I can catch myself if I realize what's happening, but that doesn't always happen. I just started wearing new clothes! Mommy finally washed all my 6-9 month clothes. I should've probably been wearing then for the last 2 weeks but Mommy couldn't believe they would already fit. But they fit great. And it's a really good thing to because it got cold this weekend and I didn't have as much warm clothing in the last size. I'm made it in the new size just in time for the change in weather. Aren't I helpful!?! I weighted 18.8 lbs on the scale at home a couple days ago so I really should be in the 6-9 months because they start at 16.5 lbs! Hopefully I can write again soon. bye

Rolling over

Ok so to trip to upload some video. I hope it works. This is from 2 days ago when I was trying very hard to turn from my back to my stomach. Today I managed to finally do it. There is no video as I've only done it once and Mommy discovered me turned over in my crib but hasn't actually seen me do it. If this works I'll post a pic of me taking steps. No I'm not walking just taking steps holding on to someone...not even cruising yet, because I don't hold on furniture very well...but hey I'm not yet 5 months old.

Trip to Martha's Vineyard

August has been a very busy month! I went to Fairlee a couple of times then drove to Long Island to visit my great-grandmother, great-aunt, and some cousins. Then we went to Martha's Vineyard for a couple of days. I met most of my mommy's family that I hadn't met before including a bunch of cousins. Mommy took me to the Flying Horses. Then back on the ferry to drive to Union Dale, PA to visit more great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, and a few cousins on Daddy's side. Then a night in Tobbyhanna, PA and back in home. One last stop in Exton to visit Mom-mom and Niney for dinner (it was only 8 miles out of our way) and at last home!!! Wow I'm tired are you! In all the traveling I started to sleep through the night!!! Mommy and Daddy were very happy! Now I sleep 7-9 hours straight and we aren't busy I'll take long naps during the day too. I was a very good girl in the car for all those hours. I mostly slept and talked. Mommy sat in the back seat to keep me company while Daddy drove. The dogs came too and they behaved so well they might be invited along on another visit. After a bath...so we haven't left yet but it's a great pic (8/9/07)

My very first carousel ride (8/17/07)
Acquired by the Preservation Trust in 1986, the Flying Horses Carousel is the nation's oldest operating platform carousel and a National Historic Landmark. It is one of the two known carousels built by Charles W.F. Dare in 1876. In 1884, the Flying Horses were brought to Martha's Vineyard.The carousel is open from Easter Saturday through Columbus Day. If you are lucky enough to catch the brass ring, you get a free ride! (There are rings to check on the inside and the outside. Mommy used to be able to catch 4 on one pass. Not today though...but we did catch the brass ring!)
