Trip to Martha's Vineyard

August has been a very busy month! I went to Fairlee a couple of times then drove to Long Island to visit my great-grandmother, great-aunt, and some cousins. Then we went to Martha's Vineyard for a couple of days. I met most of my mommy's family that I hadn't met before including a bunch of cousins. Mommy took me to the Flying Horses. Then back on the ferry to drive to Union Dale, PA to visit more great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, and a few cousins on Daddy's side. Then a night in Tobbyhanna, PA and back in home. One last stop in Exton to visit Mom-mom and Niney for dinner (it was only 8 miles out of our way) and at last home!!! Wow I'm tired are you! In all the traveling I started to sleep through the night!!! Mommy and Daddy were very happy! Now I sleep 7-9 hours straight and we aren't busy I'll take long naps during the day too. I was a very good girl in the car for all those hours. I mostly slept and talked. Mommy sat in the back seat to keep me company while Daddy drove. The dogs came too and they behaved so well they might be invited along on another visit. After a bath...so we haven't left yet but it's a great pic (8/9/07)

My very first carousel ride (8/17/07)
Acquired by the Preservation Trust in 1986, the Flying Horses Carousel is the nation's oldest operating platform carousel and a National Historic Landmark. It is one of the two known carousels built by Charles W.F. Dare in 1876. In 1884, the Flying Horses were brought to Martha's Vineyard.The carousel is open from Easter Saturday through Columbus Day. If you are lucky enough to catch the brass ring, you get a free ride! (There are rings to check on the inside and the outside. Mommy used to be able to catch 4 on one pass. Not today though...but we did catch the brass ring!)

Great Grandparents

I have now met all three of my great-grandparents!!! I also managed to see all six of them in one week. Boy am I tired. I only have pictures with 3 of them from that week. I already posted pictures with the other three.

4 months

After I got home I went soon went to Fairlee. Mommy wanted to take my cradle and 3 month things back to store them there. Its a good thing I sleep in the crib now...I can grab both sides of the cradle at the same time! While I was there I got to visit with Ibu, Mom-mom, and Niney again . =) I also got to play in the exersaucer that is there! Wow there is so much to do! I'm learning to play by myself in the play pen, jumpster, or swing. Mommy had so much wash, cleaning, and paperwork to take care of when we got back that I need to give her some free-time. It was easy with some many things to play with. And do you know there are four-legged creatures running around all the time being very entertaining.

On Monday I went to the doctor. I'm not in the 95 percentile for weight and head circumference. I weighted 16 lbs 2 oz, was 24 inches long, and my head is 44 cm. I got three shots again and one oral vaccine again. They aren't much fun at all! But there doc is happy with me and I go back in 2 months. I have almost doubled my birth weight...only 1 more pound. I'm wearing all 3-6 month clothes, but it's not going to be too much longer before some of them don't fit either. I just started size 3 diapers. They come up a little high but they fit my legs much better than the 2s did. I have learned to roll over from stomach to back. I sometimes still get stuck with my bottom arm in the wrong place and its very frustrating, but I'm getting better. I still prefer to sit or stand though. I'll only occasionally squeal or chuckle if you do something REALLY funny, but I'll smile for you most anytime.

The rest of my trip

The rest of my trip to Houston went well. I got to meet a few more friends and do some shopping. We finally slowed things down a little bit which is good because I was worn out of so much new stuff. Also it is super hot in Houston!!! I need another bath every time I go outside. Who did I get all this sweatiness from....UNCLE JAMES! Grrrrr! On the way him Ibu and Granddad flew with us, which was much nicer that just Mom and I. Granddad let Mommy sit in his first class seat that work bought so she would have more room with me. Then he asked to hold me most of the trip while I slept...hehehehe silly granddad. I'm glad to be home!

My trip to Houston so far

The week before last my mom called Ibu and asked if we could come the next day! It worked much better for everyone to visit Texas now rather than in August so off we went the next day. I was very good in the airport and on the plane. Even the men next to me said so. There was so much to look at the entire time! We've had a VERY busy schedule since we arrived. I got to Texas on a Wednesday. Friday we surprised Granddad by being here. He was on a business trip and didn't know we were here. He was very surpised! It was so much fun. He forgot to even say hi to Java for ages because he was so distracted. Poor Java! On Saturday we went to San Antonio, TX to help Uncle Scott and Aunt Amanda move into their new house. I mostly stayed at the apartment and distracted Mom and Ibu from packing. We got most of it done and came home on Sunday. On Wednesday we went to Austin for the day to visit Uncle James and Aunt Dani. It was the 4th of July and we had a great day. (Check out my dress for the occasion.) Last night very old friends of Mom's came for dinner. I had enough of new people and things and fussed a lot. Tonight we went to Cheesecake Factory! And somewhere in there I've gone swimming a couple times between the rain. Whew! Are you tired too? Tomorrow I'm going to Ibu's church so she can show me off. I'm not sure what else we are doing next week but we go home in one week. Daddy is going to be very surprised at how big I am. Yesterday I weighted 15 lbs!!!! I've started being much more verbal and occasionally use my hands. I want to sit up but for now all I can do is crunch but by then someone usually gets the point and helps me.

A new toy

I used my jumpster seat for the first time today. It sure is a lot of fun. I love to stand all the time and this lets me stand without Mommy's attention. I think I'm going to get to play with this a lot! =)

Father's Day

Sunday was also Father's day. My daddy celebrated his first ever Father's Day as a Father. I gave him a double picture frame with my feet prints and a cute picture of me for his office. He liked it a lot. I hope you remembered and wished your father a Happy Father's day.
