Playing in Mommy's Room

I know it's sorta dark, but I hope you can tell what I'm doing. I took two magazines out of the bin and walked over to Mommy with them. I will have to work on getting a better video. (1/31/08)

I DON'T like food. Ok, I like puffs and pears. Otherwise I don't like much of anything. If it doesn't look right on the spoon then I'm not putting it in my mouth. I've gotten very good at keeping my mouth clamped very shut. But I like to drink out of cups. Pureed food in cups. Water in cups. Formula in cups. It doesn't matter I like it all then. I'm getting better at drinking without a lid, but still spill it all down my front sometimes. Of course, my biggest changes are in walking. I can stop and start again, change direction, squat down and hold it, and stand up with something small to push up on, but not high enough to pull up on. Mom is still trying to get good videos of doing any of this. I really enjoy the babies class at the library and plan groups. I been seeing Alexander almost every day since his daddy is deployed now. He's 11 months older than me but we still have fun. He even helps me walk and talks with me. =) Also, Mommy and Daddy are really happy that I'm consistently sleeping through the night. I got over a cold before Christmas that was getting me up during the night, and since then I have slept 11-12 hours every night. I like to get up at 7am with the sun so I can have breakfast before we got for a walk. Mommy walks with us almost every week day. Lately with it so cold we have to walk at the mall which is cool because there's lots to look at but bad because the doggies get left at home.

Sometimes I miss my mouth.

Walking

Yesterday, I walked 30 steps! Daddy went for a youth ski trip and I was already walking noticeably better when he got home. Sometime I try to go to fast though and fall down after only a couple of steps. I fell today and have a big goose egg on my forehead. OUCH! Walking can be painful. The doctor said everything looks good this month. I've slimmed down some. My weight was 21 lbs, 13 oz. (90%), my height was 28.75'' (80%), and head circumference 45 cm (85%). The doctors prefer that you stay in the same percentiles the first year, but said that its normally to drop when you start walking and becoming so active.

Walking on Christmas Eve Eve

On Christmas Eve Eve (Dec. 23rd) I officially walked for the first time by walking from Granddad to Mommy...taking about 8 steps. After a couple times they managed to get a video camera. They need to take another video though because now I'm walking about 12 steps and with a lot more confidence. I started crawling the day before Thanksgiving and have gotten better at it but I'm still rather slow and I'd rather walk. I can pull up, squat, crawl up stairs, walk up steps with help, sit from crawling, starting to us the pointer finger and thumb in a pincher grasp, and eating real food. Everyone is using signs with me but I haven't figured out how to do any of them myself yet. I like to babble and make noise. It is so funny when Mommy says "Momma" to me - I love to giggle and say "da da". Maybe I'll get more recent videos up soon, but for now enjoy.
