Pancake Supper

These are some really great pics that a youth took at the Pancake Supper. He just sent them to us yesterday. The lighting is bad in the parish hall for taking pictures, but I still like them.

My walking shoes!

Mommy took me to get my first real pair of shoes! They're 4 wides. I have very chubby feet. Now I can walk outside and play on the playground and all kinds of things with better protection. Aren't they pretty!

I also said Momma today. It wasn't for anything but it is still the first time I've said it. Mommy was so thrilled! I think she's been waiting a long time though I'm not sure why.

First word

I've said my first word. I love to drop things and say uh-oh! I know it's a little strange as far as first words go, but I learned it from Alexander. Last summer his grandparents taught him to say uh-oh and put his hands on top of his head when something fell. He has stopped doing the hand part but still says uh-oh a lot. I figured it was something I could say. Mommy keeps tying to get me to say momma but I can't figure that out. I've got da-da but don't know when to use it. I still have a long way to go.

Yesterday, my Niney bought me my first pair of real shoes and they ended up not even fitting. My feet are growing like gangbusters. Mommy will take me back to the store to get real shoes for outside. My Niney also made my Easter dress. It is the most beautiful dress!!!! You'll have to wait for Easter to see pictures though. Anyway I need breakfast now. ttfn.

February

I haven't shared pics in a while...these are from the last week. Alexander and I have been playing a lot lately. Oh Mommy wanted me to tell you that she is VERY proud of me. I had to get blood draw for a lead test because we live in a building built before 1978. Mommy was very nervous about it. The guy put a big band around both of my arms and didn't see the veins at all! I might have my aunt Niney's deep veins. So he pricked my finger and dripped it into two vials instead. I didn't cry AT ALL! It was annoying how long he wanted to hold my hand, but Mommy played with me and it was better. The guy said I was very brave. I got lots of hugs and kisses for that.

I know it's sorta dark, but I hope you can tell what I'm doing. I took two magazines out of the bin and walked over to Mommy with them. I will have to work on getting a better video. (1/31/08)

Odds and Ends

I DON'T like food. Ok, I like puffs and pears. Otherwise I don't like much of anything. If it doesn't look right on the spoon then I'm not putting it in my mouth. I've gotten very good at keeping my mouth clamped very shut. But I like to drink out of cups. Pureed food in cups. Water in cups. Formula in cups. It doesn't matter I like it all then. I'm getting better at drinking without a lid, but still spill it all down my front sometimes. Of course, my biggest changes are in walking. I can stop and start again, change direction, squat down and hold it, and stand up with something small to push up on, but not high enough to pull up on. Mom is still trying to get good videos of doing any of this. I really enjoy the babies class at the library and plan groups. I been seeing Alexander almost every day since his daddy is deployed now. He's 11 months older than me but we still have fun. He even helps me walk and talks with me. =) Also, Mommy and Daddy are really happy that I'm consistently sleeping through the night. I got over a cold before Christmas that was getting me up during the night, and since then I have slept 11-12 hours every night. I like to get up at 7am with the sun so I can have breakfast before we got for a walk. Mommy walks with us almost every week day. Lately with it so cold we have to walk at the mall which is cool because there's lots to look at but bad because the doggies get left at home.
